Statistics of short time and spatial variations measured in wideband indoor radio channels - Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, IEE Proceedings H

چکیده
In an indoor environment, channel variations which occur most frequently are due to the movement of personnel near the transmitting or receiving antennas and/or local movements of the terminals around a given location. Such spatial and short time variations in the indoor radio channel are studied and determined by performing wideband propagation experiments in line of sight and nonline of sight environments at 910MHz. The database is divided into two classes: spatial and short time variations. Spatial variations deal with the changes in the radio channel, observed over a short time and space, at different locations in an environment. The short time variations address changes induced over time, by human traffic close to the fixed transmitter/receiver or by manually shaking the antenna on its base. The statistics of RMS delay spread and the received power in the multipath profiles are computed and compared for these experimental variations.

Statistical characterisation of a partitioned indoor radio channel - Communications, Speech and Vision, IEE Proceedings I
The relationship between behaviour of radio wave propagation and building architecture in a small indoor environment is examined. A site is divided into three partitions on the basis of number of walls between transmitter and receiver. Wideband radio propagation measurements are performed in each partition and the data analysed to compare channel characteristics in the partitions. Comparisons i...

With the rapid growth of indoor wireless communication systems, the need to accurately model radio wave propagation inside the building environments has increased. Many site-specific methods have been proposed for modeling indoor radio channels. Among these methods, the ray tracing algorithm and the finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method are the most popular ones. The ray tracing approach ...
متن کاملEvaluation of an Ultra-Wideband Propagation Channel
This paper describes the results of an ultrawideband (UWB) propagation study in which arrays of propagation measurements were made. After a description of the propagation measurement technique, an approach to the spatial and temporal decomposition of an array of measurements into wavefronts impinging on the receiving array is presented. Based on a modification of the CLEAN algorithm, this appro...
متن کاملEffects of Traffic and Local Movements on Multipath Characteristics of an Indoor Radio Channel
Introduction: Multipath propagation characteristics for indoor radio channels has recently attracted tremendous attention. There have been attempts to study the statistics of the multipath spread and to model the indoor radio channel.’-5 The effects of short time variations in the delay spread and power, caused by human traffic around a transmitter and receiver, has not yet been thoroughly inve...
